Tullamore Chamber Business After Hours Hosted by Print Plus

Tullamore & District Chamber of Commerce continued its successful Business After Hours networking series on Tuesday evening, with the event kindly hosted by Tony McCormack TD at Print Plus.

The evening provided an opportunity for local business owners and representatives to come together, hear about the journey of Print Plus, learn more about the work of the Chamber and the supports available to businesses, while also making valuable new connections.

Welcoming attendees, Tony McCormack TD gave an insight into his business journey and the various ventures he has been involved in to date. He also spoke with great pride about the team at Print Plus, describing his staff as one of the key assets of the business and highlighting the important role they play in the company's continued success.

Tony also spoke about his time as President of Tullamore & District Chamber of Commerce and reflected on the important role the Chamber plays in supporting the local business community. He highlighted the Chamber's work in lobbying on behalf of businesses, promoting local enterprise, creating opportunities for businesses to network and collaborate, and encouraging people to support local businesses.

During an interview with the current Chamber President Caroline Collins Murphy , Tony discussed some of the supports available to businesses locally, including the Local Enterprise Office and LEADER, and the importance of businesses being aware of and accessing the supports available to them.

Recruitment and retention also featured strongly in the discussion, with the challenges facing businesses in attracting and retaining staff acknowledged as an important issue for the local business community.

The importance of shopping local was also emphasised, with attendees encouraged to continue supporting local businesses and recognising the significant contribution they make to the local economy and community.

The Chamber's proposed Digital QUIDS initiative was also discussed. The initiative is aimed at modernising the existing QUIDS scheme and making it even easier and more convenient for customers to support local businesses, while continuing to keep spending within the local economy.

Following the discussion, Tony gave attendees a tour of Print Plus, providing an opportunity to see the business and its operations firsthand. The evening then opened up to the floor, with attendees invited to introduce themselves, tell others about their own businesses and share what they do.

The networking element of the evening provided an excellent opportunity for businesses from across the area to connect, exchange ideas and identify opportunities to work together.

Speaking on behalf of Tullamore & District Chamber, the Chamber President thanked Tony and the entire Print Plus team for hosting the event and for their generous hospitality and thanked Tina Bolton of TnaB Training for coordinating the event on behalf of the chamber. 

Business After Hours is held regularly by Tullamore & District Chamber and provides an informal and valuable opportunity for local businesses to connect, promote what they do and build relationships within the wider business community.

The Chamber would encourage all local businesses to get involved in future events and take the opportunity to meet fellow business owners, promote their businesses, and strengthen the connections that make Tullamore's business community so vibrant.
