New enhanced energy grants for households and businesses have been announced today, with a number of significant changes aimed at helping people reduce their energy bills.

Among the new measures are:

• A new €2,000 boiler scrappage grant for eligible homes moving away from fossil fuel heating.

• A new €600 grant for home battery energy storage systems.

• Solar PV and battery systems fully funded under the Warmer Homes Scheme.

• Grants of up to €9,000 for solar PV and battery systems for eligible homeowners receiving certain social protection payments.

• Solar PV and battery supports of up to €9,000 for eligible homes in RAS tenancies.

• Solar PV and battery systems fully funded under the Medically Vulnerable Scheme.

• Attic insulation grants of €1,400 to €2,500 for homes in HAP/RAS tenancies.

• Cavity wall insulation grants of €900 to €2,300 for homes in HAP/RAS tenancies.

• Eligibility for the existing €1,800 Solar PV and solar thermal grants extended to homes built and occupied before 2025.

There are also enhanced supports for businesses investing in solar PV, heat pumps and solar thermal systems.

These are practical measures that can help households and businesses lower their energy costs while reducing our reliance on imported fossil fuels.

The €2,000 boiler scrappage support takes effect immediately for eligible applicants, with the other new measures due to open from 6 October.
