Don’t get caught in the web.

Tullamore Chamber in association with Peninsula Business Services will be hosting a free workshop on Social media in the workplace in the Tullamore Court Hotel, O Moore Street, Tullamore, Co Offaly on Tuesday 10th February at 8.45am – 10.30 am.

This seminar will advise business leaders on subjects such as, the impact social networking has on the workplace, social networking policies, current legislation and the use of social media in the workplace, workplace bullying via social networking and how to protect your company’s reputation.

The event will also allow time for local businesses to connect with employers from like-minded, Irish-based companies, sharing ideas and talking through the subjects covered during the morning.

This is a fantastic opportunity brought to you by Tullamore Chamber to meet with other key decision makers from local businesses and discuss issues surrounding online activity facing employers today. The legal specialist’s team will also highlight some recent case studies and examine the benefits of social media policies.

Alan Price, managing director of Peninsula Ireland, said “Social media is a complicated topic which can lead to confusion and uncertainty for employers and Managers. The use of social networking has taken a major surge in the last number of years with the average person spending a significant part of their day on one of the many social networking sites. As a result, social networking has become an increasingly problematic issue for Irish employers.” A survey conducted by Peninsula showed that 67% of Irish employees admitted to checking their social networking sites during work hours while 73% have admitted to bad mouthing their employers on social networking sites. As a result social media has become a major issue for all Irish employers.”

Mr Price concluded with “We understand that with watertight policies in place, companies can then prioritise running their company and apply all their effort to making it a success. The seminar will provide useful information on the relevant policies to implement and how to do so in order to get them properly established”.

This event is sponsored by Peninsula Business Services – Ireland’s leading provider of employment law and health & safety services. The workshop will be presented by one of Peninsula’s senior legislation specialists who will go through each topic in a manner which is easy to understand and which offers easy to follow advice. The event is open to local business owners, proprietors and senior decision makers.
